My first miniature model INN OF THE FOUR FALLS

This is my very first model i have ever created and the journey in creating it was a very interesting one to say the least. The idea of the model began back in Philadelphia at my parents’ home in Merion Station PA when one of the trees fell in the back year and was cut up into logs. Looking at one of the logs I noticed that the log was rotting and beginning to split so I decided to follow the cracks on the log and split it complete into little pieces. I kept the pieces for about 10 years. It was not until I was living in my 2 bedroom apartment in Beverly Hills that had decided to temp to build the model.

Using those pieces of split wood I used them to line the walls of the miniature restaurant entranceway and dining room. Next I made over 4,000 fimo clay bricks to line the floor of the restaurant. I wanted that extra feeling of the aged old rustic look so i made each brick all different in shapes and height, The lighting on the walls of the original restaurant was made of #10 cans so to get the same look i cut off the tops of the little paint bottles and glued them onto the walls, the effect is awl some.

The early American lanterns where made from plastic cake decorations with the wiring coming down from the ceilings, The wood plank ceiling was made of one piece of wood, Using a flat head screw driver I pressed into the wood making the lines and when I placed the wood upside down on top of the first floor beam’s it look as though I placed individual wood planks in-between the beams.
